Our team of extremely qualified teachers are driven to help achieve the success of students. With last year’s student success from our summer course, North Finchley Tutors is hosting a 2 week 11+ Summer Crash Course in August that is crafted to effectively develop skills, progress and exceptional results.
Summer School Information:
4 days of teaching: 10:00 am – 1:30 pm
Week 1:
12th – 15th August 2024
Week 2:
19th – 22nd August 2024
Additional Saturday:
Saturday 24th August 2024

NFT’s Summer school classes are not only designed to help support students in their preparation for the 11+ exam but also as general preparation for individuals returning to secondary school and those embarking on their A-levels. Whilst it is important for students to take some time to rest and relax over the summer holidays, it is equally vital for them to retain all the key information they have amassed over the previous two years. NFT’s summer school guarantees both an interactive learning experience and valuable exam strategies for students beyond their school environment.

Summer School Entry Requirements
All students who want to join the 11 + crash course must be consistently achieving an average of 75% throughout their papers. Students will be asked to take a test in order to determine their acceptance into the 2024 Summer School in August. NOTE: Complete breakdown of results will not be available due to the amount of applications we receive.
STEP 1 – TELLING
- Contextualise what we are teaching
- Real life examples
- Relate to their lives
- Reinforce the verbal with the visual – use the board, diagrams, charts
- Get students to explain to other students
STEP 2 – DEMONSTRATION
- Use exemplars of right and wrong answers and what makes them so – practical, written, numerate
- Raise aspirations
- Think aloud as a teacher
- Get the students to explain how to move from the wrong answer to the right answer
STEP 3 – EXERCISE KNOWLEDGE
- Targeted questioning
- Timed practice
- Feedback
- Key Vocabulary
STEP 4 – REINFORCE PRACTICE
- Total independent working to demonstrate understanding
- Do not progress until correct
- Use of feedback upon completion
